Police foil robbery plan, arrest six with arms and ammunition

Jamshedpur, Nov. 27: Acting on a tip off, the police arrested a gang of criminals from Kapali Bustee behind Kali temple under Sonari police station area past mid-night.�

While making the arrest, the police confiscated two nine MM pistols and four country-made pistols, 14 live cartridges of different bores and three mobile phones from their possession of those arrested.

Those arrested were identified as Samir Sardar, Seru Sardar, Vikas Singh, Shusil Kerai and Babu Lodhi, all residents of Sonari and Konda Soy, a resident of Beldih Gram in Bistupur.�

Senior SP, Anoop T Mathew said the arrested criminals were hatching a plan to commit robbery in Jamshedpur.

Addressing a press conference here, Mathew said the team cordoned off the area near a Kali Temple in Kapali bustee and conducted the raid after they were informed that some criminals have assembled near Kapali bustee.

Six criminals, who were planning to commit robbery, were arrested, he said adding, the police have seized two pistols, four country-made guns, 14 live cartridges of different bores and three mobile phones from their possession.�

He said a case has been registered under sections 399, 400, 402 IPC and 25 (I-B)A/26/35 Arms Act against them.
