Jamshedpur, Nov. 2: After gangster Akhilesh Singh’s name got figured into the murder of JMM leader and transporter, Upendra Singh, the police executed a `kurki-jabti’ warrant by attaching movable properties of gangster Akhilesh Singh at his father’s residence in Sidhgora this afternoon.
Police took the step against Akhilesh after his name figured in an FIR in connection with the Upendra Singh murder case registered with the Sitaramdera police station on Thursday. In the FIR lodged by Kundan Kumar Singh, the gangster Akhilesh was the conspirator of the murder and three others, namely Harish Singh, Binod Singh and Sonu Singh had executed the murder plan.
In the case, Harish, who is a resident of Golmuri is absconding where as Akhilesh Singh is technically away from the city as the local administration has imposed a “district out order” against him since November 22.
A police team executed the `kurki-jabti’ warrant at the residence of Chandragupt Singh, father of Akhilesh on Road No 28 in Sidhgora. Officer-in-charge, Sidhgora thana, RD Singh confirmed that the attachment was carried out on the basis of a `kurki’ warrant against Akhilesh Singh in connection with a case under Sections extortion and arms act with the Golmuri thana on August 28 this year.
Akhilesh Singh’s name figured in the FIR after the probe of Sonu Singh who said that they wanted to join Akhilesh Singh’s “A-company” and therefore they had been given a task to kill Upendra Singh as a proof to get into the company.
He had also pointed out that they had been introduced to Akhilesh Singh through Harish who is one of the close associates of the gangster a month ago. He also revealed before the police that they had been paid Rs 2 lakh in advance for executing the murder.
Superintendent of police (city) Prashant Anand said they will nab all the culprits involved in the murder of Upendra Singh. The probe as well as attempts to nab the accused is on.
The police are interrogating some persons for finding out the whereabouts of Akhilesh Singh who is married, having his wife away at Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.
Police have taken one of the close associates in police custody for interrogation is hotelier Binod Singh, who is a resident of New Baradwari and owner of Hotel City Inn. Binod’s younger brother Ashok confirmed about his brother being interrogated by the police in connection with the Upendra Singh murder case.
” Yes a police team picked up my brother on Thursday night from his hotel in Pardih. I do not know the reason behind the police action, but I can guess that he has been taken by the police for interrogation in connection with the Upendra Singh murder case,” said Ashok.
