Police arrest gangster Kadim and his five aides, seize arms

Jamshedpur: Seraikela-Kharsawan police arrested most wanted gangster Kadim Khan and five of his associates on Wednesday in a series of raids in Islamnagar locality under Kapali police station area.

The superintendent of police, Seraikela-Kharsawan, Madan Mohan Lal, said he had got a tip-off about several criminals being present in a house in Islamnagar. A team was set up to crack down at the said plate. Cops nabbed the culprits and seized eight pistols, bullets and five mobile phones from the possession of the accused persons.

The five other gang members were identified as Saddam Khan, Mohammad Islam, Afzal, Ashish Jaisawal and Imran. Two more members of the gang, identified as Mohammad Ashraf Ali and Afsar Ali fled the scene.

The SP said Kadim and his men had attacked two youths of Muslim Busti in Adityapur with bombs after shooting them on 4th May last. The gangsters also shot dead one Lala in the same locality on 9th March last. The gang has been nurturing enmity with the Manjala gang since a long time. There are around 30 cases lodged against the gang members in Jharkhand and Orissa, the SP said.
