Jamshedpur : After a 28-year-old youth Kripal Singh alias Sonu who was admitted at Tata Main Hospital after being attacked by an unidentified criminal at Sonari, succumbed to his injuries.
A resident of East Layout in Sonari, Sonu was assaulted by an unidentified youth on Monday.�
Those arrested were identified as Sunny Hembram (23), Bhanu Sahu (25), Sahil Hembrama (21} and Surya Hembram (25), all residents of Bairjhabra Bustee in Sonari. Sunny and Surya were brothers where as Sahil was a cousin of the duo.
Superintendent of police (city) Chandan Jha said that on June 1 evening Sunny’s bike was hit by the bike of Sonu on Dispensary Road.
According to the City SP, at about midnight, Sunny along with three other youths, including his elder brother sought for Sonu, who was found strolling on the road with his pet dog.
But Sonu refused to pay anything and instead asked Surya to go wherever he wants. In the meantime one of the accused, Bhanu picked up a wooden log with iron-nails fixed in it and started hitting Sonu repeatedly. As a result of the assault Sonu fell on the ground.
According to police, Sonu’s father Harjinder Singh informed the police, leading a police party arrive at the spot and rush the injured to the Tata Main Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday morning.
After the assault all the four had fled the city and returned only late last night, and as soon as the police got the information about the home-coming, the police raided their house and arrested them all.
Jha said they have already confiscated the blood-stained wooden log and the blood-stained boulder that the assailants had used in the murder.
