Country made pistol recovered
Jamshedpur:The district police on Sunday arrested four youth in connection with the attack on Rakesh Dubey in Sonari and also firing at Tilu Bhatta on the night of January 5 and January 7 respectively.
Those arrested were identified as Sunil Karmakar, Samir Sardar, who is son of slain gangster Tilu Sardar, Mansha Mahali, and Babu Lodhi, all residents of Sonari.
During the arrest the police recovered a country-made pistol and two live cartridges of .315 bore from the possession of Sunil Karmakar that he had kept in his house after committing the firing at Sonari on January 7.
The Samir Sardar gang had on January 5 fired at Rakesh Dubey, who is a member of the rival Pandey gang. Rakesh had sustained a grievous gun-shot injury in his waist and is still recovering at the Tata Main Hospital.
Two days after the attack on Rakesh, there was sound of firing at Tilu Bhatta, police suspect members of Pandey gang had opened fire at Tilu Sardar’s house for taking revenge.
But after Samir and his associates were arrested today it was unfolded that the firing at Tilu Bhatta was triggered was not else than Samir Sardar gang.
Senior superintendent of police, Amol V Homkar said that the attack on Rakesh Dubey on January 5 and firing at Tilu Bhatta on January 7 had been committed by Samir Sardar gang.
” As per our investigation Samir had conspired the firing at Rakesh Dubey on January 5 was to take revenge of the latter’s act of setting bikes on fire at Tilu Bhatta.
The firing at Tilu Bhatta was dojne implicating the rival Pandey gang in the police case,” said Homkar while addressing newsmen today.
Homkar said acting on a tip off, the police raided a place in Sonari and nabbed al the four. Later they recovered the fire-arms from the house of Sunil Karmakar who had hided the weapon under the bed-sheet.
Homkar said they would register a case against those who were involved in firing at Tilu Bhatta and also the informant for lodging false complaint.
