Jamshedpur, Dec. 2: Police arrested a con from a jewellery shop in Sakchi , involved in withdrawing cash from the ATM by changing the cards.
Police team led by DSP (City) Animesh Nethani raided the shop and arrested Jameel Khan, resident of Gaya district in Bihar while two of his colleagues Samad Khan and Imtiyaz are at large.
Talking about the incident, Senior Superintendent of police, Anoop T Mathew said, three men visited Vikas Jeweller in Sakchi to buy jewellery and wanted to give cash through ATM, previously also the trio bought a finger ring.
Photos of the three men were captured in CCTV cameras and the shop owner was in suspicion and one the owner informed about the same to Sakchi Police Station.
Soon Sakchi Police Station officer, Anjani Tiwary informed about the same to the concerned officer and he formed a team led by DSP (City) Animesh Nethani.
Soon the team reached the shop and arrested a man. During interrogation, the arrested informed his name as Jameel Khan, resident of Malhari, Gaya district of Bihar.
Police recovered 10 ATM cards of different banks, a driving license, A pulsar motorcycle, One mobile phone, Rs 3790 cash, One silver bracelet and two silver finger rings, photographs and bike registration papers.
During interrogation, the arrested Jameel said, “From the last six months I have been withdrawing cash from ATM changing the cards along with two of my colleagues.
In the last few days seven incidents have been committed in various locations of Jamshedpur and Ranchi. The recent incident was held in Bhalubasa Chowk under Sitaramdera Police Station where cash was withdrawn from SBI ATM on December 1.
On November 30 Alpana Mitra registered complain at Jugsalai Police Station against the unidentified involved in same crime.
Several cases have been registered at various police station of the city and they have been withdrawn a total amount of Rs 1,83,000 changing the ATM cards.
