Police action cripples brown sugar trade in Adityapur Muslim Colony

Jamshedpur, Dec 11: The brown sugar trade in Adityapur’s Muslim colony is witnessing a significant decline due to the on-going police crackdown. In recent days, the majority of brown sugar traders have either been arrested or fled the area. On Wednesday, SDPO Sameer Sawaiya conducted a walking patrol of the Muslim colony, visiting every corner of the area to assess the situation. He found that the atmosphere in the colony was gradually changing, with a drastic reduction in the brown sugar business.

SDPO Sawaiya confirmed, “95 percent of the brown sugar trade has been curbed. Those who remain will also face legal action.” Ending the brown sugar trade in the area was once a major challenge, but the recent decline suggests that the stigma surrounding Adityapur Muslim Basti may soon be eradicated. Rajiv Kumar Singh, the in-charge of the Adityapur Police Station, and his team, including sub-inspector Suresh Paswan, played a pivotal role in this operation.
