Jamshedpur, July 18: A plantation drive was organized at the Baharagora block office premises on Monday, July 18.
The program was inaugurated by local MLA Kunal Sarangi. Underlining the need of tree plantation, Sarangi said that deforestaion is the main cause of global warming and climate change. SDM Ghatsila Santosh Kumar Garg said that tree plantation program has taken the shape of people’s movement.
Block chairman Shastri Hembram, deputy chairman Uma Rani Dubey, mukhia Dinabandhu Khatua also planted trees at the block premises. BDO Lalit Prasad Singh conducted the function and proposed the vote of thanks.
Plantation programs were also organized in schools, primary health centers, ICDS centers, gram panchayat premises etc.
