Plant trees to protect Earth from global warming: Raghubar

Jamshedpur, Sept 2: Chief Minister Raghubar Das today participated in a plantation drive on the premises of Jharkhand Armed Police (JAP) VI at Sidgora on the occasion of Karma.

Addressing a gathering after launching a tree plantation drive Das said, “We want to preserve the environment and save planet Earth and we want to plan our policies to be environment friendly.

We have planted many trees in several locations as part of the green credit campaign. We are happy at the success of the campaign through mass participation and would want mass support for this new campaign too.”

The CM congratulated the people of the state on the occasion of Karma Puja and Bakrid. He said unity in diversity was the culture and strength of India. He said dance and music was the identity of Jharkhand.
Keeping Jharkhand’s culture intact is the duty of one and all, he said.

Speaking about Karma festival, the CM said there were legends that inspired people to do their work honestly and sincerely with hope in the goodness of things. He said there was not much difference between Sarna and Sanatan religions since both religions worshipped Mother Nature.

Das further expressed his anxiety over the depleting forest cover in the state. He said the forest department was going to plant Karam saplings in large numbers all over Jharkhand.

He said the felling of trees had brought about global warming. He called on everyone to work together to make India a world leader.
