Pilgrims demand health certificate

Jamshedpur: Amarnath Yatri Sangh, a city-based outfit of pilgrims, has written a letter to the deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum Dr Amitabh Kaushal and demanded that the district administration should take measures to issue health certificates to pilgrims so that they may get registered for the Amarnath Yatra this year.

The outfit members said earlier the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital used to issue certificates to pilgrims who in turn produced the same before authorities to get registered for the pilgrimage. But now the hospital has stopped giving the certificates, as a result of which the pilgrims are facing problems.
