PIL filed against demolition of illegal construction in Jamshedpur

Ranchi, June 15: Today, on 15.06.2023, the Public Interest Litigation WP (PIL) 2078/ 2018 filed by Rakesh Jha was heard in the Jharkhand High Court by Chief Justice Sanjay Mishra and Justice Anand Sen.

It is to be known that in the last hearing, the  Bench had asked of file a status report, expressing displeasure over the 2011 orders of the Hon’ble Court to demolish illegal constructions for 10-11 consecutive years.

It is to be noted that JNAC  had assured the Jharkhand High Court of taking action by re-marking the same 46 illegal constructions without taking any action to mislead the court as in 2011, which were demolished after the orders of the  High Court in 2011.

The petitioner advocate claimed that In 2011, JNAC had given an assurance to the  High Court to seal and demolish all those illegal constructions, which after the court proceedings stopped, JNAC is alleged to have removed the seal without taking any action and declared those illegal constructions regular.

Petitioner’s advocate said that JNAC has approved map for maximum G+1 to 4 whereas all 1246 buildings have been illegally constructed from G+6 to 9, parking space in all illegal buildings for commercial use have been sold.
