Jamshedpur: Violence erupted in Carriage Colony Chuna Bhatta area of Burmamines on Sunday as members of two communities clashed over a petty incident involving kids. Several people were injured in the incident. They were taken to MGM Hospital.
A heavy deployment of armed cops and paramilitary was made near the disturbed site. Senior cops visited the place and requested people to observe peace.
Sources said the incident happened when several kids fell out with each other over kite flying. The spat soon led to a heated debate and consequently a violence clash between the elders of two communities. Both sides assaulted each other�s houses and pelted stones, sources said.
Irked over the incident, the residents of Sriram Sevashram reached Burmamines PS and sought protection. The residents blocked the main road and alleged that women were molested by anti-social elements.
DSP City Anudip Singh led a QRT contingent to the area to control the situation. Armed police performed a flag march in the locality.
