Minister inaugurates �The Dance Studio� in Sakchi

Physically challenged and poor kids to get free training

Jamshedpur: State food minister Saryu Roy inaugurated The Dance Studio at Thakurbari Road, Sakchi, on Saturday. He was accompanied by Bollywood actor Durgesh Kumar.

In his address, Roy said an increasing number of people, especially youths, were creating a niche for themselves in the field of performing art. He said many people are now making a promising career in the field of art. For such people, The Dance Studio would prove to be a great source of professional guidance and motivation, he said.

Roy praised the studio manager Puja Agrawal for announcing free training facility for the physically challenged and needy children.

Kumar said various art forms helped people develop their personality. He said the institute would help people hone their artistic talents and personality.

The institute manager said this is the second branch of The Dance Studio in the city. �Here we would be training people in dance, zumba and acting and would also provide a platform to emerging artists to showcase their skills. Gym and special fitness classes would be available for women. Our trainers would give them health and fitness tips.

The students would be trained on acting through modern techniques. They would also get an opportunity to attend special workshops on acting and dance. After completion of their courses, they would get an opportunity to work in the films made by The Dance Studio,� said Agrawal.

Agrawal said the trainees would also be given tips on remaining fit through dance by choreographers and experts.

Art helps develop one�s personality: Durgesh Kumar

Jamshedpur: Learning any art form helps a person improve their personality apart from making their career. Learning dance can help children and youths concentrate more on studies and take wise decisions. This was observed on Saturday by rising Bollywood actor Durgesh Kumar during the inauguration of The Dance Studio in Sakchi.

A native of Darbhanga (Bihar), Kumar is a graduate from the prestigious National School of Drama. He has worked in films like Highway, Firki, Ali and Sultan. He said he has had an old connection with Jamshedpur as his father Dr Hari Krishna Choudhary worked as a professor at Jamshedpur Cooperative College in 1974. He said he was impressed by the liveliness of the people here. He said he had bagged important roles in his upcoming films Dhadak, Bamberia and Chakki. He said he had come to Jamshedpur for a film shoot.
