Jamshedpur, Apr 20: Government offices opened in Jharkhand on Monday amid lockdown 2. The relaxation has been given in green areas.

With no coronavirus positive case being reported in Kolhan division, the area is under green zone so far. The division that comprises East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Seriakela Kharsawan districts has not seen any positive case of the deadly virus so far but the administration was strict against giving relief from restrictions on April 20. On day one of the relief on Monday several roads of Jamshedpur were lined up with vehicles while some of the prominent locations including the Mango Chowk, Sakchi Roundabout and Regal roundabout witnessed traffic jam. Several vegetable markets of Sonari, Kadma saw people crowding defying social distancing norms. After getting the information police arrived at the spot at and as a precautionary measure closed down the vegetable market. Jamshedpur being a green zone people are getting advantage but if one coronavirus positive case comes up all the relaxations will be withdrawn. For the first time after 27 days people got a little respite from the lockdown but people need to be careful. Residents should not move out of their homes unless very urgent and should follow the social distancing. In the urban areas the situation remains the same markets will remain closed and only medical and essential services shops will open.

As per government instructions only 33 percent of the total staff will attend office. The third and fourth grade employees will be given duties on rotation so that social distancing can be maintained in offices. At the main secretariat of the state in Ranchi, the staff and officers were given hand sanitizers while thermal screening is also being done.

The relaxation has not been given in the red zones Ranchi and Bokaro. People in the non-red zone areas came on to the roads in large numbers. In steel city Jamshedpur, a traffic jam like situation prevailed during relaxation.

Despite government instructions for social distancing people were seen violating the guidelines.
Four positive coronavirus case were reported in Jharkhand on Monday, April 20 taking the state tally to 45.

Of the four positive case, one is from Jharkhand ‘s hotspot Hindpiri and one each from Deoghar, Bokaro and Hazaribagh. A woman has been found corona positive in Hindpiri who came in contact with members of Tablighi Jamat. Hazaribagh man returned from Mumbai. A 50-year-old man in Bokaro districts Gomia block also tested positive. Bokaro district Chief Medical Officer Dr Ashok Kumar Pathak said the man, who hails from Sadam village, belongs to the family which had lost a 70-year-old member to the virus on April 8. He is undergoing treatment at the isolation ward of Bokaro General Hospital, Pathak said.

The total number of confirmed cases in the state includes two deaths, one each in Ranchi and Bokaro districts. Most of the coronavirus patients have been reported in Ranchi district at 25, followed by ten in Bokaro, three in Hazaribagh, two each in Simdega, Dhanbad and Giridih and one Deoghar.
