Jamshedpur: On Tuesday, Bharatiya Jantantra Morcha launched a Pension Jagrukta Rath in Jamshedpur district, which is set to tour the entire city until February 22nd. The Rath aims to raise awareness among women aged 50 to 59 about widow pension and old age pension.

Jharkhand’s government has scheduled the filling of pension forms for women aged between 50 to 59 from February 20th to 22nd. Pension certificates will be issued to women completing the forms before the implementation of the Lok Sabha elections’ code of conduct.

A day-long camp was organized at the office of Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy in Baridih, where pension forms were filled by women in the specified age group. Approximately 250 women collected the forms, out of which 70 were filled and submitted on the same day. The forms require attachment of two photographs, voter ID, Aadhar card, and a bank passbook.

The campaign involves two three-wheelers with posters and microphones that will traverse Jamshedpur, creating awareness among women about filling pension forms. During the campaign’s flagging-off, MLA Saryu Roy urged Bharatiya Jantantra Morcha workers to dedicate themselves for the next three days to maximize the reach of the pension scheme. He announced plans for awareness camps, encouraging Mandal Presidents and workers to organize pension camps across Jamshedpur on 21st and 22nd February.

Saryu Roy also communicated with the Circle Officer and Deputy Commissioner of Jamshedpur, informing them about the pension forms received from his office, urging them to expedite the approval process. The Circle Officer assured Roy that approvals would be provided within three days. Roy emphasized the importance of informing beneficiaries promptly once the certificates are received in his office.

District General Secretary Manoj Singh Ujjain, along with several members of the community, participated in the event.
