Peace committee meeting held over CAA in Jadugora

Jadugora, Dec 22: A meeting of peace committee on Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) was convened at Kowali police station in Jadugora on Sunday. It was chaired by DSP Pitambar Khirwal. He informed the gathering of committee members about the CAA and discussed about the current law and order situation across the country. He said there was need to do away with confusion regarding various provisions of CAA. He appealed to people to exercise caution and restraint.

Few members of Muslim community demanded permission to stage demonstration against CAA. They expressed their reservations regarding the CAA and sought permission for agitation. The DSP said the district administration will allow them in case they protest in a peaceful and constitutional manner.

Those present during the meeting included Inspector Rajeev Ranjan, Shatrughan Paswan, OC of Kowali PS, Ratan Sonkar, Dukhni Mai Sardar, Sunil Munda, Pintu Gupta and Lakhi Charan Kundu.
