Jamshedpur: Carmel Junior College celebrated the spirit of Independence Day with a vibrant Patriotic Song Competition held in the school auditorium on August 12, 2025. The event aimed to inspire love for the nation, honour India’s rich heritage and showcase the musical talent of its students.

The competition was held in two groups — Group 1 for Classes V and VI and Group 2 for Classes VII, VIII and IX. Each group delivered soulful and energetic renditions of patriotic songs, filling the hall with enthusiasm and pride. Performances were judged by Molly Kidder, Mousumi Mukherjee and Kakoli Giri, who evaluated melody, rhythm, expression and overall impact.

In Group 1, Std. VC and VD secured first place, while Std. VA and VB came second. In Group 2, Std. IX A and IX B emerged winners, followed by Std. VIII C and D in second place and Std. VIII A and B in third.

Principal Sr. Sharel congratulated the participants, saying, “Such competitions not only refine artistic skills but also deepen students’ appreciation of the sacrifices that earned us our freedom.”
The event concluded with the School Song, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of unity and patriotism.
