PATH holds court, ‘Khamosh ,Adalat Jari Haye’ at Srinath University

Jamshedpur, Oct 20: The critically acclaimed play, ‘Khamosh Adalat Jari Haye,’ by hailed dramatist Vijay Tendulkar who penned this masterpiece in 1968, has been enacted in several languages and continues to grip the audiences across the country. Originally written as ‘Shantata Adalat Jari Ahey,’ in Marathi, the Hindi version was presented amidst an almost overflowing Srinath University Auditorium on Thursday, October 20. The play was performed by People’s Association for Theatre (PATH). The narrative is actually is in the form of a play within a play that portrays the stature, state and status of women that holds adamantly good even after 55 years since Vijay Tendulkar’s conscience biting social poser.

Directed by master theatre person Md Nizam, the actors and technical unit gelled like an well oiled machine that did justice to the play’s core theme. ‘Khamosh, Adalat Jari Haye’ was performed amidst silence ‘commanded’ by the high quality PATH presentation. Each member of the cast delivered a performance of the highest quality. Light design, make up, costumes, sets and effect music formed the crux of a masterpiece presentation of a complex theme in a thought-provoking narrative. Srinath University Chancellor, Sukhdev Mahto was present on the occasion. Students, faculty members of Srinath University witnessed the play with rapt attention.

   IPS DIG CRPF Sanjay Ranjan Singh appreciated the play and contended, “Though  this play was written in 1968, the status of women has remained constant till the present.”

 DTO Jamshedpur, Dinesh Ranjan appreciated the presentation and described it as heart touching .Vice -Chancellor of Srinath University, Dr Govind Mahato observed  that the theme of the play was very relevant and was a reflection of the status of women through time.
