Jamshedpur, Feb. 12: Culfest 2016 started in NIT campus at Adityapur with full passion and enthusiasm on Friday morning.
The day started with the inauguration of Shades room (the central attraction of fest) by Director of NIT, Prof. Ram Babu Kodali. This year, the theme of shades room is Indian culture and society, while the theme of the Culfest is �Jashn-e-India�.
All the participants gave their best in the preliminary round of the fest including rangoli, doot loose (Solo Dance), eastern vocals, English debate, panch parmeshwar, distrotion (Battle of Bands), Rang Manch (Skit), Meri Maggi (instant khichdi) and others.
In the distortion (Battle of Bands) event, 1983 batch alumni and founder of the rock band, Amit Kumar from USA and Anurag Saxena from London put up their best to enthrall the audience.
The most awaited event of the day, �kavi sammelan� started in the evening wherein famous Ehsaan Qureshi along with Deepak Gupta, Rasik Gupta, Poonam Verma and Vishnu Saxena mesmerize the audience by the intoxicating rhythm and hymns.
The campus has been decorated in a way that gives an impression of grand festival with special lighting and decoration. National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jamshedpur, will be hosting annual cultural festival �Culfest 2016� from February 12 to 14.
The second day of Culfest will start with �Hindi debate� at 8 a.m. followed by poshak, mono acting, solo dance, and a treasure hunt to name a few. The attraction of the day will be the performance of DJ NYK from Mumbai. The event is slated to start at 8 p.m. and continue till late in the night.
On the last day, Underground Authority, the famous rock band, which has already won a million hearts, will present a night that will tune the audience unanimously to the beats till their body is in resonance with the music.
