Jamshedpur, April 2: A demand for provision of ponds in Gadra, Tupudang, Parsudih, Rahargora, Govindpur and other areas in the Jugsalai Assembly constituency has been made by Samajik Seva Sangh (SSS) to aid agriculture and fish farming. Jamshedpur parliamentarian Bidyut Baran Mahto has recommended the provisioning for ponds in these areas.
An SSS delegation met the Land Reforms’ Department officer Shraddha Toppo qand handed a letter of demand for provision of ponds. She assured the delegation that soil would be tested in the rural areas and after taking the CO’s permission ponds would be dug in the areas as demanded by SSS.
SSS convener Rajesh Samant said that ponds would provide water for bathing, washing, drinking purposes. He said that ponds would also facilitate farm irrigation and pisciculture. Other members of the delegation included Bhupati Sardar, Sonu Srivastav, Bahadur Sharma, Mangal Sharma and Kisno Hembram.
