Maha Aarati, Shahi Snan will be held at Domuhani, says Minister

Jamshedpur, Feb 15: State Health Minister Banna Gupta Wedneday said Shahi Snan and Maha Aarati would be organized at Sonari Domuhani on the occasion of Maha Shivratri. He further said that a grand park would be constructed on the banks of Swarnarekha river at Marine Drive Road.

Gupta, who was speaking to scribes at Circuit House, said the garbage heaps spread all over the Swarnarekha riverbank would be removed before starting the park construction.

“Garbage is being dumped at Marine Drive Road for the last many years. Some people have set the garbage mound on fire. As a result, methane gas is spreading all over the local bastis along with smoke. This is causing problem to the people. In view of the situation, it has been decided to renovate the area and convert it into a park,” said Gupta.

Gupta said waste disposal would soon begin in the city on the initiative of the state government. He said he had held discussions on this topic with the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary and Urban Development Department Secretary.

Gupta said the order of National Green Tribunal (NGT) will not be a hurdle in the completion of the park project. He said preparations had begun for Maha Shivratri celebration at Domuhani. He said Astha Kund is being built at Domuhani where people can dispose Puja material. A group of 11 priests from Varanasi would perform puja, havan and other religious ceremonies on this occasion. Renowned Bhojpuri singer Bharat Sharma Vyas would also sing bhajans during the programme, said Gupta.
