Jamshedpur: Popular as cinestar Madhuri Dixit�s biggest fan, Pappu Sardar is also known for his social initiatives including care for the underprivileged. Another trait of his came to light today when he took out his Matdata Jagrukta Rath from the East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner�s office to make people aware of their constitutional right to exercise their franchise to elect a proper peoples� representative for Parliament.
On being prodded on his unique venture, Pappu observed, �I am a humble Indian but, I feel, it is also my responsibility to ensure cent percent voter turnout and hence do my humble bit to make the voters aware of their high value votes. This Matdata Jagrukta Rath has been conceptualized for that purpose only.�
While flagging off Papu�s awareness Rath, DC Amit Kumar stated, �Pappu Sardar is known for his unique ways. His present endeavor to move around with his Matdata Jagrukta Rath to spread awareness among the people to cast their votes is indeed heartening.�
Pappu was wearing a kurta-pajama with slogans pertaining to the importance of voting printed all over. His scooter too was painted with similar slogans.
