Jamshedpur: Famous fan of the Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit, Pappu Sardar celebrated his idol’s birthday by conducting special prayers for Covid-19 patients. In view of the lockdown and intensity of the second wave of the virus, he skipped the traditional cake cutting ceremony. He performed special rituals for his idol and prayed for the wellbeing of Covid patients.
“We prayed to Lord Ganesha and performed rituals with a hope that the lord will bring an end to the spread of coronavirus. I make sure to avoid public gatherings and make sure that we pray for Covid patients that they recover early,” said Pappu, wearing a mask. He said that the idea is to spread awareness in the society that people should follow social distancing norms and stay indoors.
On Madhuri Dixit’s birthday, he also fed animals and birds. He said that in view of the lockdown he is feeding animals and birds at Sakchi, Bistupur and other key areas these days. He has also appealed to the animal welfare workers and general public to take care of the animals during this period.
Later in the day, Pappu also celebrated her birthday at Cheshire Home where special prayers were organised for wellbeing patients and giving tribute to those who died in the pandemic.
Like thousands of others, Pappu Sardar idolises Bollywood actor Madhuri Dixit. But he is a unique member of her fan club in that he has taken it upon himself to reach out to those in need while dedicating the service to her.
Amidst ongoing crisis of Covid-19, Pappu gave three wheelchairs, blood pressure measuring gauges, oxymeters, sugar level indicators, dead body covers, protective hand gloves, sanitizers and masks to the MGM College and Hospital to help them fight the pandemic.
