Panchayat Secretariats to expedite schemes in rural areas: CM

Ranchi, Sept. 2: Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said the panchayat secretariats across the state will help developmental and welfare scheme implementation in rural areas and profiling the panchayats.

Das said that panchayat secretariats should be considered for making people aware also. A list of landless farmers should be made and wages for work should be fixed for them. He said so while conducting meeting of Principal Secretaries of different departments regarding panchayat secretariats.

The CM said that this system will help eliminate the middlemen. Panchayat secretariats people can be employed for preparing list of welfare scheme beneficiaries, surveying water connection in villages, working as caretakers of primitive tribes, monitoring the schemes, surveying ration card and other works.

The skill development department can get rural youths� work interest surveyed by them and impart training accordingly. They can be helpful in preparing list of migrating rural girls. Officers also shared their views in the meeting.

Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma, Development Commissioner Amit Khare, Principal Secretary to the CM Sanjay Kumar and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
