Jamshedpur, Nov 14: Panchayat Samiti member Ashish Pal from East Ghorabandha in Jamshedpur block was allegedly attacked by JMM supporters Madan Gorai, Raju Rana, and other anti-social elements on Wednesday night. The attack is believed to be linked to Pal’s active role in cow protection.

According to information, around 10:30 pm, while returning home from the BJP office, Ashish Pal was stopped by 20-25 people, including Madan Gorai and Raju Rana. The attackers not only assaulted him but also threatened to kill him. During the attack, Pal was verbally abused, and Madan Gorai allegedly said, “If you protect cows and write Jai Shri Ram, we will not let you live in Ghorabandha.”

The attackers also forcibly removed the ‘Rudraksha’ necklace Ashish was wearing and wiped off the religious tilak on his forehead. Ashish has filed a written complaint with the Govindpur police station.

Following the incident, NDA candidate Ramchandra Sahis visited Ashish Pal’s residence in Ghorabandha and expressed his disapproval of the attack. Sahis met the Govindpur police station in-charge and demanded immediate action, urging the arrest of the perpetrators. BJP and AJSU leaders strongly condemned the attack, calling it an infringement on religious freedom and law and order.

Hundreds of party workers, including Ramchandra Sahis, Kanhaiya Singh, and others, participated in the protest, demanding severe punishment for the culprits. They criticized the incident as an example of the deteriorating political environment and lawlessness in Ghorabandha.
