Jamshedpur, Sept 13:Â Padma Shri Jamuna Tudu met Chief Principal Forest Conservator Sanjay Shrivastav at the Forest Building in Ranchi on Wednesday. She briefed the official on issues faced by various forest protection committees in the East Singhbhum district. She highlighted the challenges faced by women engaged in forest protection in the Chakulia and Ghatsila ranges.
Jamuna Tudu emphasized the need for renovating ponds in the jungles to provide water for elephants and proposed the construction of new ponds where necessary. She also stressed the importance of planting fruit-bearing trees in the forests.
Former 20-point programme President Shambhunath Mallik, Apu Das, Partho Mahato, Azad Mahato, Kakoli Mallik, Mahesh Gaur, and others were present during the discussions.
