Jamshedpur: Over a dozen people were injured in a road accident near Tamar on Sunday. They were taken to MGM Hospital.
Sources said the mishap occurred on the National Highway 33 in the evening when the bus carrying the passengers rolled down on the steel side of the road and turned over. Eight of the passengers were seriously injured in the incident. Other passengers were sent to the Community Health Centre in Chandil. There were around 70 passengers on board.
Police said the bus was overcrowded and also overloaded on the top with heavy luggage and parcels. Near the edge of the road, the driver lost control on the wheels, causing the vehicle to overturn, police said.
