Seraikela, May 12: Today, voters from Seraikela and Kharsawan assembly constituencies will exercise their democratic right to vote for two Lok Sabha parliamentary constituencies, Khunti and Singhbhum. A staggering total of 5,91,067 lakh voters are expected to participate in the electoral process across these two constituencies. In Seraikela Assembly, there are 3,66,989 voters, while Kharsawan Assembly comprises 2,24,078 voters. To accommodate this significant number of voters, 431 polling stations have been established in Seraikela Assembly and 282 in Kharsawan Assembly. The voting process commenced early in the morning with the distribution of appointment letters and voting materials among polling officials and personnel. Polling stations for the 51-Seraikela (ST) Assembly under the Singhbhum Lok Sabha constituency and the 57-Kharsawan (ST) Assembly under the Khunti Lok Sabha constituency were equipped with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and readied for voters. The distribution of materials was carried out under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla, Superintendent of Police Manish Toppo, and Assistant Electoral Officer of the Assembly. Comprehensive arrangements, including help desks and medical centers, were made at the polling party premises to ensure a smooth voting process. Polling parties, accompanied by sector officers and police forces, were dispatched to a total of 713 booths. This included 106 micro observers, 78 sector magistrates, and additional reserve personnel, amounting to a total of 2852 polling personnel. During the deployment, the District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner briefed the polling team on various aspects of their duties. The Deputy Commissioner also interacted with several team members, directing them to adhere to the guidelines provided by the Election Commission of India and ensure the efficient conduct of the electoral process.
