Jamshedpur: In a remarkable show of community spirit, Tata Steel UISL hosted its first-ever Jam@Street event in Jamshedpur today, drawing more than 20,000 people to Bistupur’s main thoroughfare. Organized in collaboration with Tata Steel and Tata Steel Foundation, the family-friendly event underscored Tata Steel UISL’s commitment to enhancing community engagement, promoting wellness, and fostering civic responsibility.

The event was inaugurated by Jamshedpur’s Deputy Commissioner, Ananya Mittal (IAS), along with Ritu Raj Sinha, Managing Director of Tata Steel UISL. Mittal kicked off the day with a balloon release, symbolically encouraging the youth to participate in the Vidhan Sabha elections on November 13, 2024, and emphasizing the importance of voter awareness and active citizenship.

Starting early at 6:30 am, Jam@Street turned Bistupur’s main road into a lively space filled with activities catering to all age groups. Fitness enthusiasts participated in Zumba, yoga, and badminton sessions, while families enjoyed food stalls, live music, and adventure sports displays. A voter awareness booth took center stage, underscoring Tata Steel UISL’s dedication to civic engagement and reminding attendees of the power of their vote.

Live performances, basketball and karate demonstrations, and interactive art activities like painting and temporary tattoos added color to the event. One of the highlights was a vibrant Zumba session, which brought the community together through music and movement, celebrating health and togetherness.

Jam@Street, with its free admission and a wide variety of activities, exemplified Tata Steel UISL’s commitment to improving quality of life in Jamshedpur and encouraging active participation in civic life. The event was a testament to the power of community-driven initiatives, establishing a new standard for engagement activities in the city.

Voter awareness drive
