Oration on Internationalisation of Indian Medical Education at Manipal Tata Medical College

Jamshedpur, July 25: On the occasion of the 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Tonse Madhava Anantha Pai, the founding father of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC) organised the prestigious Dr TMA Pai’s Oration. The oration was delivered by the esteemed Dr. Ved Prakash Mishra, Professor Emeritus, Distinguished Professor, and recipient of the Dr. B C Roy Award. The event aimed to commemorate the visionary contributions of Dr. TMA Pai and foster discussions on the internationalization of Indian Medical Education.

In his captivating oration, Dr. Ved Prakash Mishra addressed the medical students and faculty at MTMC, emphasizing the need and direction for the internationalization of Indian medical education. He highlighted the importance of aligning Indian medical education with global standards to enable Indian medical graduates to stand out in the international community. The event was graced by distinguished personalities from MAHE, including Dr. Sharath K Rao, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Health Sciences; Dr. Dilip G Naik, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Mangaluru campus; Dr. Niti Nipun Sharma, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Strategy and Planning; Dr. Anup Naha, Chief Coordinator VSO; Dr. Abhishek Chaturvedi, Secretary VSO; Dean MTMC, Dr. Pradeep Kumar G; and Director of Academic Administration and Quality, Dr. Rajiva Dwivedi.

Several key faculty members, including Dr. Harish Chander Bandhu (Associate Dean Clinical), Dr. Vijay Kautilya D (Associate Dean Para Clinical), Dr. Asim Mishra (Head Research), Dr. Sachin Kumar Patil (NSS Programme Officer), and Mr. Debasis Sinha, were also present to support and enrich the event.
