Jamshedpur, Nov 19: Members of Oraon community announced their decision to support the Bharatiya Janata Party in the upcoming state Assembly elections. Many members of the community joined the BJP in the presence of Chief Minister Raghubar Das at his Agrico residence on Tuesday.
The CM welcomed the new members of the party and asked them to work sincerely for the party. He asked all party workers to inform the voters about the various development projects and welfare schemes launched by the state government. He said the state government had done a lot for the welfare of Adivasis and backward sections.
Das said the number of people joining the BJP was increasing day by day. The reason behind the growing popularity of BJP is its ideology and the pro-poor policies of the state and Central governments, he said.
The CM said the regional parties having Jharkhand in their names had kept the people away from BJP.
Among others present on the occasion included district BJP president Dinesh Kumar, Kamlesh Kumar, Ramesh, Sukhram Lakra, Santosh Lakra, Badal Minj and Durga Agrawal.
