Jamshedpur, July 18: Save Jharkhand Sports is up in arms against Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) President Amitabh Choudhary. The group’s convener Sunil Kumar Singh addressing a press conference on Saturday at Deoghar said, Jharkhand Cricket Supremo is only good at making announcements but has done nothing to improve the level and development of cricket in the state.
Cricket lovers and people of Jharkhand want to know the status and the progress report of the construction of the stadiums in Hazaribagh and Dhanbad.
Taking a dig at the president, Singh added that since the formation of Jharkhand the post of president has been under the possession of Choudhary but no step has been taken for the development of cricket in the Santhal Parganas, nor has the region hosted sufficient number of league matches.
None of the level I and level II umpires has been selected till now. Cricketers representing the state have not been selected too. After verifying the registration forms, he found that none of the first class players has ever been inducted into the committee.
Speaking on behalf of all fans & people of Jharkhand, Singh noted that the president has overlooked the insurance for cricketers, PFs and ESIs of JSCA staffs and yet there have been 38 amendments made in the 35 by-laws of the JSCA constitution.
He also mentioned that every year the BCCI entrusts a sum of Rs 30-35 crores to cricket association. He demanded all account of the money spend in Deoghar and Santhal districts. Also present at the conference were former Ranji player Jeetu Patel and Vinit Madhukar.
