District BJP organizes sit-ins across the city under its pol khol campaign
Jamshedpur: District BJP organized ‘pol khol’ programme at various places in East Singhbhum with the view to expose the Opposition parties allegedly spreading rumours on the land acquisition bill across the state.
Leading the agitation in Golmuri, district BJP president Dinesh Kumar said the Opposition parties, especially the Congress and the JMM, were misguiding the people of the state on the land acquisition bill passed recently by the government of Jharkhand. The sole objective of these parties is to spread rumours among the Adivasis and the Moolvasis of the state in order to gain political advantage, he said.
“The various Opposition parties want to get a foothold in the state which has become a dream for them under the Raghubar Das government. They are opposing the land acquisition law in order to defame the BJP led government as they have no other option left with them. With the speedy development of Jharkhand, these parties are frustrated as is evident from their pre-poll strategy and conduct,” said Kumar.
The BJP president said the land owners of the state had not got their compensation promised by the erstwhile governments till date. The farmes and poor tribal people have run from pillar to post earlier but not got their compensation, he said.
Kumar said the state government had simplified the land acquisition laws after due consultation with the villagers and various tribal outfits and institutions.
He said the land acquired with the prior permiss of the gram sabha would be used only for public utility and development purposes. Acquired lands will not be used for setting up private industries, he said.
Kumar said the people giving their land to the government would get four times the market value of their property in compensation within eight months.
Among others present during the dharna included Chandrashekhar Mishra, Khemlal Choudhary, Pawan Agrawal, Mithilesh Singh Yadav, Ranjeet Singh and Probir Chatterjee Rana.
The BJP’s Pol Khol programme was held in Golmuri, Baridih, Bhalubasa, Sakchi, Telco Labour Bureau, Burmamines Jemco Chowm, Birsanagar Sunday Market, Karandih Chowk, Khasmahal, Parsudih, Bagbera DB Chowk, Rahargora Chowk, Kamalpur Kating Chowk, Patamada Beltand Chowk, Jugsalai Gaushala Chowk, Mango Khudiram Bose Chowk, Olidih Pardih Chowk, Bistupur Beldih Basti and Tilka Manjhi Chowk.
