Jamshedpur, April 10: As the Lok Sabha election date approaches, political buzz intensifies in Jamshedpur with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) yet to announce candidates for all constituencies. Amidst this, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) workers express discontent over the delay in candidate declarations, particularly for the Jamshedpur seat.

At a recent meeting held at the Tribal Association Hall in Sitaramdera, Jamshedpur, discussions revolved around organizational status, Lok Sabha election preparations, and the upcoming Nyaya Ulgulan rally. Notable attendees included JMM district president and Ghatshila MLA Ramdas Soren, along with other prominent party leaders.

The meeting addressed the crucial issue of selecting the candidate for the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha seat, prompting debates on whether the candidate would emerge from within the party or outside. Clarifying this, Ramdas Soren emphasized that the candidate would be an internal party member, ruling out the possibility of an external candidate entering JMM’s fold.

Soren highlighted ongoing deliberations within the party leadership regarding the selection of the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha candidate. He assured that a decision would be reached imminently by the central leadership, with the candidate’s name soon to be announced. Regardless of the chosen candidate, Soren asserted that the district committee has primed itself to ensure victory, with party workers mobilized across all 1,800 booths spanning urban and rural areas.

Moreover, Soren reflected on the political landscape, alleging BJP’s apprehensions towards JMM leader Hemant Soren, citing his recent imprisonment as part of a purported conspiracy. Nonetheless, he exuded confidence in JMM’s resilience, asserting that BJP’s electoral aspirations in the region would remain unfulfilled.

Looking ahead, Soren outlined plans for the Nyaya Ulgulan rally on April 21, urging widespread participation from East Singhbhum. Instructions were issued to block presidents, secretaries, as well as panchayat officials to mobilize support for the event.

Soren concluded by reprimanding block chairpersons for incomplete tasks, underscoring the pivotal role of these positions in strengthening the party at the grassroots level. He urged prompt completion of pending assignments and emphasized the importance of adherence to district committee directives.
