Jamshedpur, April 7: In view of the second wave of coronavirus, a meeting of the governing body of Kolhan University was held on Wednesday at Chaibasa. The meeting chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof Gangadhar Panda decided that all classes runno9ing offline would be closed down with effect from Thursday, April 8 and instead, they would be conducted online as it used to be prior to the gradual promulgation of the unlock periods. The online classes would continue through April.
However, it was also decided in the meeting that examinations would be organized offline until further instructions were received from the UGC. The meeting made it clear that all faculty members including part timers would have to be present in their institutions and besides teaching will attend to other functions. Their attendance would be marked on the basis of their attendance for conducting the online classes.
The meeting was attended by Deans, HoDs of all faculties, Pro VC Arun Kumar Sinha, Registrar Dr Jayant Shekhar, Controller of Examinations Dr PK Pani, Proctor MA Khan and other University officials.
Meanwhile, all private schools have notified parents and guardians of students between classes 8 and above that classes for the children would be conducted online.
