One year jail term for theft from Tata Steel Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Feb 29: Mubarak Ali, a resident of Jugsalai Garib Nawaz Colony, was sentenced to one year imprisonment for theft of 30 kg copper wire from Tata Steel. The verdict was delivered by the court of ADJ-5 Manju Kumari on Thursday.

Ali, who had been in jail since February 6, 2023, was released by the court, considering the time already served. Four persons testified in the case, with Section 413 of the IPC not proven against the accused. However, Section 411, pertaining to the recovery of stolen goods from the accused, was established.

The incident occurred on February 6, 2023, when security personnel of Tata Steel apprehended Ali with the stolen copper wire. Following a complaint by the security officer, an FIR was lodged at Bistupur police station, charging Ali with theft and selling stolen goods.
