Over 2.5 lakh Covid tests completed in Jamshedpur, positive tally reaches 15,470

Corona Score: 33 infected, 48 recover, no deaths

Jamshedpur, Oct 22: Growth of the novel coronavirus cases is slowing down in Jamshedpur. Thursday again came as a relief for Jamshedpur as no COVID-19 deaths were recorded in the district. This is the eighth time in 108 days that not a single person succumbed to the virus.

Jamshedpur recorded 33 corona positive cases on Thursday, October 22. Positive tally has climbed to 15470 while the death toll remains at 345 with no death reported on Thursday. 48 people recovered of the virus taking the total recovery to 13938 while total active cases in Jamshedpur are 1187.         

The district administration spokesperson informed that 33 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Thursday. East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 100749 test per million in the district. The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 90 % while the mortality rate is 2.2 %.

So far in Jamshedpur 280988 samples have been collected out of which 268195 have been tested and 252725 have turned out to be negative.

The Coronavirus patients tally in the state reached to 98,610 as a total of 549 fresh cases of Covid-19 were detected across the 23 districts of Jharkhand on Thursday. During the day 8 deaths were reported including four from Ranchi, 2 from Bokaro and 1 each from Dhanbad and Koderna districts after which the overall death count has increased to 859 in the state. The mortality rate among the patients currently stands at 0.87 per cent. As per the information provided by the health department the number of active cases in the state was 6,122 while the number of cured and discharged cases stood at 91,629. The total number of death caused by Coronavirus in the state stood at 859. On Thursday no case was found in Chatra district. On Thursday a maximum number of 151 cases were found in Ranchi followed by 61 in West Singhbhum, 60 in Dhanbad, 48 in Bokaro and 33 in East Singhbhum (top five districts). A total of a number of 625 people were also cured and discharged from various dedicated Covid19 facilities during the day including 171 from Ranchi, 87 from Bokaro, 48 each from East Singhbhum and Koderma districts, 37 from Latehar and 34 in Ramgarh. Despite the rampant rise in Coronavirus cases across the state the recovery rate of Covid-19 patients has improved significantly and has once gone above 92 per cent mark to currently stand at 92.92 per cent in Jharkhand. So far in the state 30,34,090 samples have been collected out of which 30,19,158 have been tested and 29,20,548 have turned out to be negative.
