Jamshedpur: In two separate mishaps one person was killed on Sunday. The mishaps taking place in Parsudih and Golmuri police stations area of the city.
At Khasmahal locality, a coal-laden truck hit a row of shops on Station-Parsudih Road under Parsudih police station area at the wee hours today, in another mishap a 71-year-old man was killed on being hit by a speeding truck near RT Tata roundabout under Golmuri police station area in the morning.
The mishap victim who was killed on the spot was identified as Jenapado Barua, a resident of Namda Bustee in Golmuri. He was killed as the Scooty he was riding was hit by a speeding truck.
A relative of the mishap victim said that Jenapado would work at a tailoring shop in Army Canteen along Bistupur-Sonari road. He said as the old man was seriously injured, some local people rushed him to Tata Main Hospital, where the doctors on emergency duty declared him dead.
OC, Golmuri police station, Arvind Kumar said that the fatal mishap took place near the RD Tata roundabout in the morning.
“During investigation we found that the mishap took place as the Scooty rider lost his control at the sight of a speeding truck. Soon after the mishap, the driver of the truck had escaped with the vehicle, but we have seized the truck” said Kumar.
The mishap took place at Khasmahal on Station-Parsudih Road at about 2 am when a dumper hit into a row of shops before getting overturned. Moreover, in the impact of the collision, the shops’ walls were also damaged considerably.
OC, Parsudih police station, Rajendra Kumar Das confirmed about the mishap at Khasmahal in the wee hours today.
” Soon after the mishap the dumper driver managed to escape soon after the mishap which was caused due to rash-driving. We are trying to remove the dumper from the mishap spot,” said Das.
