Officials should use Johar to greet masses: Jharkhand CM

Hemant stresses on mass awareness for success of Sarkar Apke Dwar campaign

Ranchi, October 13: Chief minister Hemant Soren interacted with deputy commissioners of all 24 districts for successful implementation of the second phase of ‘Aapki Yojana, Aapki Sarkar, Aapke Dwar’ campaign on Thursday.

The review which was attended by divisional commissioners had Hemant Soren stressing on the need for connecting with people in local dialect to understand their problem.

“Whenever the officials go to the camp being conducted as part of the Sarkar Apke Dwar program, they should use the word ‘Johar’ (tribal word used while greeting) with the general public. When meeting with the general public in different villages and panchayats, connect with them giving priority to their own language and culture,” said Soren.

The chief minister also suggested the deputy commissioners and divisional commissioners of five zones that they should understand the sentiments of the general public and work to connect them with the scheme.

CM said that the first phase of ‘Aapki Yojana, Aapki Sarkar, Aapke Dwar’ campaign has been very positive and successful. Expressing confidence in the office bearers, the Chief Minister expressed hope that second edition of the campaign would be better than last year.

The Chief Minister said that the benefit of Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana would start from the girls studying in class eighth.

“ By the time these girls reach the age 18 to 19 and complete intermediate, they will get a total financial assistance of Rs 40,000 for health and education. This amount will be given to them in addition to the scholarship. Nine lakh adolescent girls of the state will get the benefit of this scheme,” said Soren.

“Efforts should be made to compulsorily add eligible beneficiaries to the camps, so that the target can be achieved. The scholarship given to the children under the scholarship scheme has been increased up to three times.  We are expecting to add 35 lakh poor children studying in state schools with scholarship scheme,” Soren added.

The Chief Minister said that Sarvajan Pension Yojana is an important scheme for the state. About 10 lakh new people have been added to this scheme in the last one year. There are still many people left to join during this one month campaign.

“ All the applications received under Sarvajan Pension Yojana should be disposed of at a fast pace,” said Soren.

He said that in view of the drought situation in the state, five schemes should be approved in each village without any delay while  ensuring that the wages received under MNREGA are paid on time.

The Chief Minister said that on the day the officials organize camps in the village or panchayat, the foundation stone of five schemes must be laid in the village on the same day, so that employment generation can start soon.

The Chief Minister said that in the second phase of ‘Aapki Yojana, Aapki Sarkar, Aapke Dwar’ campaign, a target has been set to connect seven to eight lakh beneficiaries with green ration cards.

The Chief Minister said that for intensive supervision of the programs to be organized under this campaign and for providing continuous guidance to the DC, the senior officers nominated should visit the area and monitor the schemes continuously.
