Jamshedpur: Income Tax officials here on Thursday interrogated four persons in connection with the seizure of old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes worth Rs 10 lakh by police from a car in Gamharia late yesterday night.
The I-T officials quizzed the three persons, identified as Sunil Kumar Sah, Govind Prasad and Amit Kumar, in connection with the cash found in their possession during police checking in Gamharia.
Giving a turn to the investigation by police and IT officials, one Ravindra Sharma, president of Jamshedpur Nai Sabha, an association of barbers, claimed that the cash belonged to him. Sharma said the cash came from his business transactions and claimed that he would justify the same in his Income Tax Return.
The IT officials directed the cash to be deposited in Sharma�s bank account following the explanation given by him.
