Jamshedpur: Notwithstanding the tall claims of the East Singhbhum district administration, the residents of Nachosai village in Chakri panchayat under Potka block are still defecating in the open, reason being that there is not a single toilet in the entire village.
According to Bhushan Sardar, one of the villagers, �We had given a memorandum to the former Block Development Officer (BDO) of Potka, Prabhas Chandra Das, two months ago and demanded that a toilet should be built in Nachosai. But no initiative was taken by the officials till date.�
At present, the village has a population of 700. The villagers have no choice but to go out of their households to answer nature�s call. They hope that someday their village too, becomes open defecation free (ODF).
