Jamshedpur, Oct 26: A 27-year-old youth identified as Shubham Kumar, an employee of Nuvoco Cement Company, was brutally assaulted after being abducted by a gang of four miscreants near Hudo dam under Telco thans area on Wednesday late evening.
Kumar was reportedly abducted at gunpoint and forcibly taken in a car to a location in Manifit, falling under the same police station area. The assailants mercilessly thrashed Kumar inside a cattle shed, where he was tied to a chair during the assault.
Allegedly, the abductors, identified as Rahul Gupta and Rishabh Gupta, dropped the victim back near the Hudco dam after the assault. The incident took place in a cattle shed, raising concerns about the audacity and brutality of the attackers.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the police swiftly intervened. A police party reached the spot and promptly ferried the injured Kumar to MGM Medical College Hospital (MGMMCH) for urgent medical attention.
The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Telco Thana, Naresh Prasad Sinha, confirmed the assault on Kumar. In a statement, OC Sinha mentioned that the police are currently taking the statement of the injured youth at MGMMCH. According to the initial findings, the victim was allegedly with his girlfriend near the Hudco dam when the abduction occurred.
OC Sinha suggested that the incident may be related to a matter involving the girl, and efforts were underway to identify and apprehend those responsible for the abduction and assault. The police are working to unravel the motive behind this incident.
