Jamshedpur: A workshop on preparing kitchen gardens was organized at Upgraded Middle School, Tangrain, in Potka on Wednesday. Pramod Kumar, Marketing Manager of Centre for World Solidarity (CWS), imparted training to the young participants designated as �nutrition heroes�.
According to Arbind Tiwary, headmaster of the school, as many as 40 students are being trained as nutrition heroes by the school in collaboration with CWS. �With the view to spread greater awareness on nutrition among the children, the training aims at enhancing nutrition level in the food cooked in the homes of the students. The kitchen gardens or �rasoi vatikas� will have organic fruits and vegetables which can be easily grown in a small area of land in all the households,� said Tiwary.
Tiwary said the students and their parents are being encouraged to ensure the presence of a kitchen garden in every household.
The kitchen gardens prepared at the workshop was inspected by Anita Sardar, Alopi Sardar, Ravindra Sardar, Asita Sardar, Gangadhar Sardar and Arjun Mardi.
