NTTF Jamshedpur marks Engineers Day honoring Sir M. Visvesvaraya

Jamshedpur, Sept 15: NTTF, R.D. Tata Technical Institute, Golmuri, observed Engineers Day with reverence, honoring Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya on his birth anniversary.

The program was inaugurated by Principal Preeta John and Vice Principal Ramesh Rai, who lit the ceremonial lamp and offered floral tributes to Visvesvaraya. Addressing students, Principal John spoke about his remarkable contributions to engineering and nation-building. Born in 1860 in Karnataka’s Muddenahalli village, Visvesvaraya went on to become one of India’s foremost engineers, remembered for pioneering water management and irrigation systems. She also recalled his significant contributions to Tata Steel and industrial growth.

The event featured speeches by students Srishti Gupta and Quiri, who reflected on the relevance of Engineers Day in today’s world. Faculty and staff, including Program Coordinator N. Shivprasad, Varun Kumar, Deepak Sarkar, Ajit Kumar, Haresh Mrinmay Kumar Mahato, Manjula, Veena, Shilpa, Manish Kumar, Nakul, and others attended.

The celebration served as a reminder to young technocrats of their role in carrying forward the legacy of engineering excellence established by Visvesvaraya. Students expressed their commitment to innovation and societal service, echoing the visionary ideals of the great engineer.
