Jamshedpur: National Service Scheme (NSS) was celebrated with fervour at Karim City College on Wednesday.
Around a hundred students participated in the celebrations. A programme was organized to mark the occasion. It was presided over by Dr Mohammad Riyaz. The special guests of the programme included Dr BN Tripathy and Professor Gauhar Aziz.
The programme started with the welcoming of guests by the NSS team leader Aman Kumar Singh. He spoke about the aims and objectives of NSS. One of the NSS members Gaurav Kumar, who returned from NSS camp in Rajasthan, shared his experiences with the gathering. Sharmila, another NSS member, shared her experiences at a camp in Manali, Himachal Pradesh. Two short films on NSS and its ideology were also screened on the occasion.
Addressing the students, Professor Aziz said the real joy of life was in giving to others and sharing their grief. Dr BN Tripathy said the NSS provided a platform to students to serve the society and the country.
