Now, Utility bill payments �On the Go� in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, June 11: In a first-of-its-kind initiative rolled out across the state of Jharkhand, utility services company Jusco has joined hands with Vodafone and Bill Desk to allow customers in the steel city to make their utility bill payments via Vodafone�s m-pesa app.

The new initiative will give customers the convenience of making monthly bill payments through m-pesa on their mobile phones � anytime, anywhere.

This association was formally launched on Saturday at the Jusco premises by Ashish Mathur, Jusco managing director, and Raghunath Pandey, Jusco Shramik Union president, in the presence of Rajshekhar Metgud, business head � Vodafone Bihar & Jharkhand circle, Santanu Banarjee, head operations, east zone, Bill Desk as well as other senior company officials from Vodafone, Bill Desk and Jusco.

Addressing the media, Ashish Mathur said, �Jusco has always come up with new facilities which would be time saving and convenient for the people of the city. We have always been connecting with the people of Jamshedpur and both the company and the residents should take a step forward, which would help to connect easily.�

The utility bill payments via m-pesa of Vodafone will further strengthen our bond with the customers as now people won’t�have to visit the Jusco bill collection centre instead they can pay the bill through the m-pesa on their mobile phones anytime, anywhere.

Mathur briefed the audience on the new initiative of the company and Jusco�s long term plans of striking strategic associations to further delight its customers.

�Jamshedpur should have basic smartness which is needed when we talk about the smart cities and we should be proud of the city that takes lead in doing anything which is happening in the country,� added Mathur.

MD further informed that the rollout of Jusco bill payments via Vodafone m-pesa is yet another step towards customer centricity.

With this, customers can now pay monthly utility bills from the comfort of their homes without needing to stand in queues in the collection counters. Customers can now pay their bills either by contacting Vodafone Centers or through their own mobile phone by downloading the m-pesa apps.

For convenience of customers, 14 centers will operate across the city including one at Jusco Bill collection Center to facilitate customers. With the launch of the service, for the next three months, Vodafone m-pesa is offering 5% cash back of the billed amount with a ceiling amount of Rs.50. �

Rajshekhar Metgud said, �m-pesa is connecting the unconnected and mostly the urban population where most of the people are living and working in other cities and have to send money to their homes. �M-pesa is safe and convenient and Jusco team will provide top class facility to the Jamshedpur residents.� �

Raghunath Pandey said, Jusco is committed to provide top class facility to the people of Jamshedpur and is also enchanting the same day by day. M-pesa will ensure that people don’t have to come to Jusco bill collection centre to pay bills. Jusco has and will continue to satisfy the customers.

In order to start using m-Pesa simply download the �m-Pesa App� available across all major platforms�including Android, iPhone, BB and Windows and register on your mobile.

Jusco has always endeavored to bring out improved facilities to the customers through various initiatives. The objective behind this is to develop a customer centric organization through benchmarking and adopting best practices across the sector, said A P Singh, DGM, customer relations and corporate communications.

He informed that in 2004 Jusco started the Jusco Sahyog Kendra, a 24×7 helpline complaint management system for all the services it provides in Jamshedpur. The second stage of improvement focused on single window service hub with initiatives like air conditioned bill payment counter and Jusco Grahak Seva Kendra.

The third stage of improvements focused on multi-mode payment facilities like de-centralized bill payment counters across town, information through SMS and payment through ATP machines.

The fourth stage focused on auto mode bill payment with facilities like Internet payment through Bill Desk, Internet banking through credit/ debit cards, Airtel Money, mobile app and now Vodafone m-pesa, added Singh.
