Nominations for third phase polls starts in four constituencies today

Ranchi: Nominations for the four Lok Sabha constituencies of Rajmahal, Dumka, Godda and Dhanbad for the third round of polls in Jharkhand will start tomorrow. The chief election officer of Jharkhand PK Jajoria said the process of filing of nomination for the 10 Lok Sabha seats is over and now the process of filing nominations for the third round will start.

Jajoria said the nominations will be accepted till 5th April. The verification of the forms will be done till 7th April. The last date for withdrawal of nomination is 9th April. The counting of votes will take place simultaneously nationwide on 16th May, he said.

Jajoria said the state Election Commission was putting in efforts to ensure timely completion of preparations for the elections in the four constituencies of Chatra, Kodarma, Lohardagga and Palamu.

The second phase polls will take place in six constituencies that include Giridih, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Singhbhum, Khunti and Hazaribagh. Tomorrow is the last date for withdrawal of nominations for these seats.
