Nod for two varsities in Jharkhand, 50 percent recruitment from locals 

Sona Devi University in Ghatshila, Dinesh Singh University in Garhwa

Ranchi, February 21: Hemant Soren led Jharkhand government has approved the establishment of two new private universities in the state.

After the passage of the bill related to this in the state assembly, the approval of the Governor has also been received for the establishment of these universities. After this, the Law Department has issued a notification giving it the form of law clearing the deck for the setting up of the universities.

The government believes that with the establishment of these universities, new opportunities will be available in the field of education in the state. Due to this, employment will also be created in the state in line with the statement of the chief minister Hemant Soren for focussing on improving higher education for the locals.

The state government has approved the Dinesh Singh University Act 2022. This university will be established in Garhwa district of Jharkhand. However, its scope will be in the entire state. Diploma and degree courses will be taught in this university. According to the notification, posts of Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Examination Controller and other teachers and personnel will be created in this university.

Similarly, the state government has also approved the Sona Devi University Act 2022. This university will be established in Ghatshila sub-division of East Singhbhum district. In this also all the posts including Vice-Chancellor, Registrar will be created. The state government has also put several conditions for both the universities, whose compliance has been made mandatory.

In a first of its kind initiatives by the state government, both the Universities have been given a condition to reserve at least 50 percent of teachers and personnel for residents of the state. That is, the rule of reservation for the residents of the state on these seats will be decided by the rules and orders issued from time to time by the Government of Jharkhand.

No grant will be given to these universities from the state government or the central government. However, if the state government wants, it can give grant to them from any other head. Another condition of the state government is that the university will have to give diploma or degree on time.
