West Singhbhum, April 2: Noamundi College has taken a significant step toward enhancing its academic infrastructure with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art language lab and computer lab. The initiative, undertaken jointly by Axis Bank and Tata Steel Foundation, aims to empower students in the tribal-dominated region.

Speaking at the event, Abhejit Agarwal, Head of Sustainability & Corporate Social Responsibility at Axis Bank, encouraged students to embrace technological advancements while preserving their cultural heritage. He highlighted the growing importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital tools, urging students to stay updated with these evolving trends to boost their career prospects.

The ceremony was graced by several dignitaries, including Sourav Roy, CEO of Tata Steel Foundation; Atul Bhatnagar, General Manager OMQ, Tata Steel Ltd.; Geeta Koda, former MP and Co-Chairperson of Noamundi College; Sriparna Ganguly, Chief Partnerships Officer, Tata Steel Foundation; and various officials from Axis Bank and Tata Steel Foundation. Principal Monojit Biswas expressed gratitude for their support in strengthening the institution’s academic resources.
The event also featured vibrant cultural performances by students, including the traditional Ho dance and patriotic-themed acts, showcasing the rich heritage of the region.
Located in West Singhbhum district, Noamundi College serves as a key educational hub for students within a 50-km radius, spanning parts of both Jharkhand and Odisha. The newly established laboratories are expected to provide students with enhanced learning opportunities, equipping them with essential digital and language skills for their future careers.
