Jamshedpur: The road in front of PM Mall, one of Bistupur’s busiest areas, has now been officially declared a “no parking zone.” For the convenience of customers and citizens visiting the mall, JNAC has developed an alternative parking space. The main road, connecting Bistupur to Adityapur, is crucial from a security perspective, as the President’s convoy will travel along it upon her arrival in the city on December 29.
Following the instructions of JNAC Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar, parking of vehicles on the road in front of the mall has been banned to ensure smooth and safe traffic flow. The new system was implemented on Wednesday under the leadership of City Manager Jyotipunj, Jitendra Kumar, Prakash Sahu, Joy Gudiya, Anay Raj, and Accounts Officer Ashok Vardhan. The Deputy Municipal Commissioner has warned that if vehicles are found parked in the no-parking zone, strict action will be taken and fines will be imposed as per the regulations.
To alleviate traffic congestion at the mall’s main entrance, vacant land adjacent to Gate No. 1 has been developed into a parking lot. The land has been levelled using a JCB. An area of over 300 meters will now accommodate two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles. The road from Voltas More to Adityapur is approximately 40 feet wide, but due to on-street parking near the mall, this width has been reduced to 15-20 feet. The new arrangement will make the entire width of the road available for traffic. JNAC has appealed to the public to follow traffic rules and park their vehicles only in designated parking areas.
